Winners of the 2025 Innovative Technology Integration Awards Announced by the Center for Digital Education and National School Boards Association

These accolades were revealed before a gathering of numerous school board members at NSBA’s Advocacy and Equity Institute, highlighting districts at the forefront of innovative technology utilization.
The Innovative Technology Integration Awards celebrate outstanding initiatives by school districts that effectively leverage technology to revolutionize education. These esteemed awards acknowledge K-12 districts that exhibit unparalleled dedication, creativity, and success in incorporating technology into their educational frameworks. These efforts play a crucial role in enhancing student learning experiences and fostering educator professional development.
The winners were chosen from an impressive list of nominees recognized for their exemplary technology integration practices within K-12 education across the United States. The judging panel assessed each nominee based on several criteria, including a comprehensive vision for technology integration appreciated by all leadership tiers, inventive educational methodologies, and a commitment to equitable access to technological resources for both students and staff.
Washoe County School District from Reno, Nevada, was honored in the category for districts with over 60,001 students, establishing itself as a national frontrunner in K-12 public schooling through its commitment to advanced technology, cybersecurity education, and personalized learning platforms aimed at closing equity gaps in preparation for a tech-centric future.
For the category of districts with 10,001 to 60,000 students, Henrico County Public Schools in Richmond, Virginia, emerged victorious. With over 23 years of experience in technology integration, Henrico excels in utilizing digital tools, AI, and data-driven methods to enhance educational outcomes and promote equitable access for all students.
Peninsula School District in Gig Harbor, Washington, was awarded in the category for districts with up to 10,000 students. It distinguished itself through a strong vision for technology integration focused on equipping students for a world driven by AI, while also emphasizing digital wellness and the responsible usage of technology.
Recognized as innovative pioneers in technology integration were Compton Unified School District in California and Orange Public Schools in New Jersey.
