Suffolk County Legislator Rebecca Sanin Discusses the Roles of Government and Small Businesses in Strengthening Local Economy at LIMBA

Commack, NY (FreePR.org) -- On January 30, Rebecca Sanin, Suffolk County Legislator, will be the guest speaker at LIMBA (Long Island Metro Business Action). This event will take place at the Candlelight Diner, located at 56 Veterans Memorial Highway in Commack, starting at 8:30 a.m. Legislator Sanin will speak on the topic “How Government and Small Businesses Can Work Together to Strengthen Our Local Economy.”

A lifelong Long Islander, Ms. Sanin has devoted her career to driving transformative change and championing the needs of her community with unwavering dedication.

Since joining the Suffolk County Legislature in January 2024, she has hit the ground running, forging powerful connections across community organizations, small businesses, and the non-profit sector. Her proactive approach has established her as a key figure in bridging the gap between government and the public, all while making a tangible impact on health, environmental, and human services.

Before being elected Legislator, Ms. Sanin led the Health and Welfare Council of Long Island as its President/CEO, honing in on the critical needs of families and children across both Nassau and Suffolk Counties. She spearheaded initiatives that strengthened regional support systems for underserved communities and led the successful 2020 Census count, ensuring Long Island received its fair share of federal resources and representation.

Ms. Sanin’s dynamic leadership extends to her tenure as Assistant Deputy County Executive for Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone, where she orchestrated effective responses to Superstorm Sandy and championed continuous improvement within county government. She also chaired the Suffolk County Task Force to Prevent Family Violence, pioneering policies to protect county employees from sexual harassment, discrimination, and workplace violence.
