Project Resist Champions NYC Taxpayer Rights and Government Transparency
Project Resist's mission is to unify New York City taxpayers and ensure that government officials adhere to the laws and the New York State Constitution
NEW CITY, N.Y. (FreePR.org) -- Project Resist, a non-partisan nonprofit organization co-founded by attorney Jimmy Wagner and former educator Rachel Maniscalco, is urging New York City taxpayers to demand increased transparency and accountability from government officials regarding the allocation and use of public funds.
The organization's primary mission is to unite NYC taxpayers and advocate for government compliance with state laws and the New York State Constitution. Project Resist is committed to addressing perceived injustices and ensuring that taxpayer rights are protected.
“Government accountability is essential,” says co-founder Rachel Maniscalco. “Our goal is to uphold the constitutional and legal rights of New York City residents, ensuring that no official exceeds their authority. NYC taxpayers deserve transparency and respect for their rights.”
A pivotal hearing is scheduled for June 10, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. in Queens County Supreme Court (8811 Sutphin Boulevard, Queens, NY 11435, Courtroom 63, Index No. 708514/2024). The proceedings will require testimony from key officials, including Mayor Eric Adams and several commissioners, regarding their policies on religious accommodations.
“Our mission is rooted in defending the freedoms and rights of every taxpayer in New York City,” explains attorney Jimmy Wagner. “The government’s role is to serve the people, and we are here to ensure that this fundamental principle is upheld.”
Project Resist is calling on NYC taxpayers to support this initiative and attend the hearing. This moment represents a critical opportunity to remind officials of their obligations to their constituents.
