Pace® Life Sciences Expands Biologics Development, Manufacturing, and Analytical Testing Capabilities for 2025
Company Enhances Sterile Fill-Finish Services and Increases Capacity to Support Biologics and Gene Therapy Development
MINNEAPOLIS (FreePR.org) -- Pace® Life Sciences, LLC, a leading U.S.-based contract research, development, and manufacturing organization (CRDMO) and a division of Pace®, is proud to announce significant expansions at its Salem, NH, and Oakdale, MN, facilities. These developments are set to increase capacity for biologics development, manufacturing, and analytical testing, meeting the growing demands of the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries.
Pace® Life Sciences partners with pharma and biopharma manufacturers to advance programs from early research and development through clinical trials and commercialization. The planned facility upgrades will add sterile fill-finish capabilities and advanced analytical support for biologics, gene therapies, and other innovative molecules. “These expansions enable us to accelerate clinical trial material development and better serve underserved markets,” said Frank Tagliaferri, Chief Science Officer at Pace® Life Sciences.
Oakdale, MN: Expanded Testing and Job Creation
The Oakdale site, which received a 2024 grant from Minnesota’s Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED), is undergoing an 8,000-square-foot expansion. This growth will include state-of-the-art facilities for testing drugs in the commercial phase and the creation of over 50 new jobs. Key enhancements include a dedicated RNase-free environment and expanded cell-based assay capabilities, supporting both widely distributed therapeutics and treatments for rare diseases.
Salem, NH: Center of Excellence for Sterile Fill-Finish
The Salem facility is on track to be classified as a Center of Excellence (CoE) for sterile fill-finish processing. The addition of an isolated vial-filling line ensures compliance with EU Annex 1 standards, offering the highest level of sterility assurance. “This expansion allows us to deliver world-class cGMP manufacturing services for vaccines, gene therapies, antibodies, and protein-based therapeutics,” added Tagliaferri.
Commitment to Innovation and Growth
Pace® Life Sciences continues to expand its capabilities through strategic acquisitions and investments. In 2024, the company added its Research Triangle Park, NC, location, enhancing expertise in Container Closure Integrity Testing (CCIT), and acquired a Lebanon, NJ, site to broaden service offerings. “We are dedicated to supporting our clients’ critical, life-saving work by continuously improving and investing in our facilities and expertise,” said Dawn Von Rohr, President of Pace® Life Sciences.
