Mother-Daughter Filmmaking Duo Brings Eye For Eye To Chicago For Premiere
The Detroit-made revenge thriller begins its four-state premiere tour in Chicago on October 16, marking Iceis Boyer’s directorial debut.
Chicago, IL (FreePR.org) -- Detroit filmmaker and writer Nyambe Nichole is bringing her latest feature film, “Eye for Eye”, to Chicago as the first stop of the film’s four-state premiere tour.
The film marks the first feature collaboration between Nichole and her daughter, Iceis Boyer, with Nichole serving as writer and producer and Boyer making her directorial debut.
“I’ve created several films, but Eye for Eye is special because this is the first time my daughter and I have been able to bring a film to life together,” said Nichole. “I wrote the story, but then I had to trust Iceis to take those words and make them her own as a director. Watching her step into that role and find her voice behind the camera was one of the most rewarding parts of this entire experience. We’re building legacy one story at a time.”
“Eye for Eye” is a revenge thriller centered on murder, buried secrets and the dangerous line between justice and vengeance. After a young woman is murdered, her killer begins receiving cryptic messages signed “Eye for Eye.” As the messages continue, members of his own family begin dying one by one.
The film brings an independent Detroit production to Chicago audiences while introducing Nichole, Boyer and So Icey Productions to the city’s filmmaking community.
Nichole’s previous projects include “Dear Future Husband”
and “Deadly Desires*. “Dear Future Husband” received Best Film and Best Screenplay at the 2022 Detroit Filmmaker Awards and has reached audiences through streaming platforms including Tubi and Amazon Prime.
Boyer previously wrote and produced “Blind Trust”. With “Eye for Eye”, she takes on the director’s chair for the first time, working alongside her mother to bring the feature to life.
The filmmakers describe the project as part of their goal to build a creative legacy through storytelling and continue developing films together.
