Fashion Revolution Week Uae 2025 Is Here! Do Not Miss The Agenda
This year's event is running from April 21st to 27th, 2025 and marks the 11th anniversary of the Rana Plaza collapse.
Dubai, UAE (FreePR.org) -- The aim is to raise awareness and educate the next generation of consumers and fashion designers about transparency, sustainability, and ethical practices within the fashion industry in the UAE.
Fashion Revolution UAE is focusing on three key manifesto points:
Respect for Culture and Heritage: Emphasizing the importance of traditional skills and craftsmanship and advocating against cultural appropriation without proper credit or permission.
Solidarity, Inclusiveness, and Democracy: Championing diversity as essential for the fashion industry's success.
Mindfulness of Waste: Promoting practices like repairing, reusing, recycling, and upcycling to reduce textile waste.
The week features a diverse range of online and in-person events designed to engage various stakeholders, including students, hobbyists, designers, industry experts, and the general public.
Key Events:
.#FR25 Digital Sustainable Fashion Showcase (April 18th - 30th): A fully digital competition and showcase open to students, hobbyists, and non-established designers to present their sustainable creations. Public voting will determine the winners, announced in May.
Panel Discussion – Can AI Help Fashion Become More Sustainable? (April 21st, Online): A discussion exploring the potential and risks of artificial intelligence in making the fashion industry more sustainable, featuring experts from AI and fashion sectors.
.#FR25 Fashion & Its Roots: Moving Forward, Appreciating the Past (April 22nd, Online): A panel exploring the role of cultural heritage and traditional craftsmanship in shaping a more sustainable fashion future, with speakers representing artisanal practices from Sri Lanka, Italy, and India.
.#FR25 Behind the Seams: The Struggles of Fashion’s Makers (April 23rd, Online): A panel discussion highlighting the challenges faced by fashion makers and exploring ways to build a more just and ethical industry, featuring designers and advocates from the UAE and beyond.

.#FR25 Are We Going Backwards? Sustainable Fashion vs. Ultra-Fast Fashion (April 25th, Online): A critical discussion examining the tension between sustainable practices and the rise of ultra-fast fashion, featuring advocates and marketing strategists.
.#FR25 Celebrating the ‘Year of Community’: A Fashion Revolution Week Party (April 26th, In-person, Dubai Marina): A networking event and celebration of the conscious fashion community in the UAE.
.#FR25 Fashion Revolution Clothes Swap (April 27th, In-person, London College of Arts, Dubai): An event promoting circular fashion by allowing participants to exchange pre-loved clothing.
.#FR25 Upcycling Workshop: Furoshiki Workshop (April 27th, In-person, London College of Arts, Dubai): A hands-on workshop teaching the traditional Japanese art of fabric wrapping as a sustainable alternative to paper and tape.
