The Traditional View
For years, the high‑end segment placed significant emphasis on component quality: “audio‑grade” capacitors, oxygen‑free copper inductors, and non‑inductive resistors. The assumption was straightforward: better materials equal better sound. To a degree, that’s true, but before measurement tools became widespread, much of this belief existed without clear, repeatable data to support it.

Tolerance matters more than branding
